Messaging, strapline, brochures & website for New Economy

New Economy is one of the six Association of Manchester Authorities (AGMA) commissions.  They have recently rebranded but were experiencing difficulties with their communications. They have a highly complex offering, numerous stakeholders and partners.  New Economy did not have a clear sense of purpose, message or communication platform.  They turned to CHC to help them build upon the strong existing brand and communications plan.

After a thorough consultation we created a new strapline that clearly communicates New Economy’s position and value – ‘Growth and Prosperity for Manchester’ and 5 core pillars of communication so that New Economy could be easily communicated to all its stakeholders.  This was supported by the identification of a tiered target audience, to give focus to all future communication projects.

Next we developed a new brochure, project managing the whole process and developing the new copy.   It was extremely important to New Economy that we delivered the most effective solution, within the minimum budgets.  We therefore worked within the current website to create a new simple navigation, developing a style guide so staff could write effective copy and finally creating new copy for the website for internal implementation.

“We are delighted with the results.  I am happy to recommend Claire Helm Consulting and am looking forward to working with them on future projects.”

The rise and rise of the outsourced marketing department

Posted: November 14th, 2010 | Author: Claire | Filed under: Marketing, News | No Comments »

The current economic climate has led to drastic cuts in the marketing department.  This is combined with an increased need to drive new revenue streams, enter new markets and be bigger and better than the competition.  This requirement lies squarely within the marketing department who are likely to be under resourced, with limited budgets. In some cases there may be no marketing department at all.  There has been a significant increase in marketing channels and trends in the past two years.  This means that the Marketing Manager is required to be an expert in all – delivering projects across all multiple channels, whilst achieving more.

As a business leader you are likely to want to do more with your marketing for less.  The solution for many is outsourcing.  PricewaterhouseCoopers research has shown that top global executives believe they gain major competitive advantages from outsourcing.  The research found that the greatest advantages gained were lower costs (76%),  gaining access to talent (70%), farming out activities that others can do better (63%) and increasing business model flexibility (56%).

Outsourcing your marketing gives an outside organisation full responsibility for delivering your project, on time, within budget and with the desired results. This has great advantages over traditional recruitment; reducing costs, increasing flexibility and eliminating people management issues such as poor performance, procrastination, time management, illness and stress. Outsourcing your marketing is the new way to create growth opportunities.

This is where CHC can help.  We work as your very own Marketing team.  CHC is different to a traditional agency as it is run by a Sales and Marketing Directors.  We draw upon a pool of the best suppliers from design to production for each project.  This means you get the very best delivery team for a faction of the cost.  You pay for the best not for an agencies overheads or fleet of company cars!

New strategy, identity & website for Impact Consulting

Impact Consulting are business psychologists. They work with a range of public and private sector clients as well as individual clients, assessing talent, uniting teams, building leadership, developing organisations and coaching clients to success.  Having achieved a great deal of success in their existing markets, they turned to CHC to help them grow their business further.  CHC identified that they needed a new strategy, identity and the marketing tools to reach new markets as the recession hit their core markets.

We began with a new marketing strategy.  We evaluated the whole business, understanding the competitive landscape, their position and developing clear objectives for their growth.  A key development area for Impact was their brand, so we also ran an in-depth brand personality workshop with all staff consulting at a high level.  The whole strategy project was delivered within five days and gave them the platform to develop their organisation including sales scripts, positioning statements and ideas that could be implemented internally.

We then tackled the brand, creating a new identity and copy that perfectly reflected their unique position in the marketplace.  CHC have created a new website, stationery, signage, email marketing and social media sites.  Impact Consulting can now carefully and consistently communicate their position and offering to their target markets, across multiple channels.  The team also received CHC’s sales training to help them reap the rewards of their new marketing communications and we continue to work with Impact Consulting on an on-going basis.

“They really got us thinking about where the business was going and how we could develop a strategy that would help us achieve our objectives.  We now have a strategic foundation for our new identity, website and marketing which communicates our strong position in the marketplace.”
